A Mossbauer study of the magnetic coupling in iron phosphorous trisulfides

The polycrystalline sample of layered compound FePS_3 has been investigated by using M?ssbauer spectroscopy (12K to 300K), magnetic susceptibility measurements, x-ray diffraction and FTIR spectroscopy. The antiferromagnetic order exists below T_N=120.5±1K. The M?ssbauer spectra below T_N indicate that the magnetization axis is perpendicular to the layer of FePS_3, and the divalent iron cations are in their high spin configurations. By fitting the hyperfine field parameters near the Néel temperature, we obtain information on the nature of magnetic interactions in the material. The results show that the magnetic coupling can be treated by the two-dimensional Ising model, and it can be interpreted on the basis of a crystal-field effect.     

Convex central configurations for the n-body problem

We give a simple proof of a classical result of MacMillan and Bartky (Trans. Amer. Math. Soc. 34 (1932) 838) which states that, for any four positive masses and any assigned order, there is a convex planar central configuration. Moreover, we show that the central configurations we find correspond to local minima of the potential function with fixed moment of inertia. This allows us to show that there are at least six local minimum central configurations for the planar four-body problem. We also show that for any assigned order of five masses, there is at least one convex spatial central configuration of local minimum type. Our method also applies to some other cases.

Magnetic deflection of neutral metal clusters in a beam

A new apparatus for measuring the magnetic properties of metal clusters has been constructed. The technique involves the conventional Stern-Gerlach deflection scheme together with modern pulsed laser vaporization source technology and time of flight mass spectrometry. High field seeking monodirectional deflections have been measured for cobalt clusters containing between 40 and 400 atoms. The measured magnetic moments per atom are found to be lower than the known values for the bulk. Special attention has been given to velocity measurements of the metal clusters and the carrier gas atoms in the beam. The residence time of the particles in the source cavity has been measured.

重金属Pb2+对玉米苗生长的影响

以水栽培的玉米幼苗为材料，用不同浓度的醋酸铅溶液处理后，分别在第10天、第20天、第30天对玉米苗的根、茎、叶分别进行Pb^2＋含量测定。分析结果：Pb^2＋在玉米体内的分布表现为根〉叶〉茎；玉米中的叶绿素含量均降低；随着Pb^2＋浓度的增大，玉米细胞的膜透性表现根〉叶〉茎依次升高；Pb^2＋对玉米的伤害率的大小表现为根〉叶〉茎。该实验为进一步研究农作物对重金属Pb^2＋的耐性和重金属Pb^2＋在农作物体内的分布提供了可参考的数据。     

化学位移各向导性对半整数自旋四极核的2D NMR章动的影响

考察了化学位移各向异性对半整数自旋四极核2D NMR章动的影响.用数值方法对2D NMR章动实验的演化期的Hamiltonian矩阵进行对角化,然后用帐篷法进行粉末平均,获得了自旋为I=3/2、5/2、7/2和9/2的四极核在不同化学位移各向异性下的2D NMR章动谱.实验结果与理论计算符合较好.     

三十烷醇在GA_3影响水稻幼苗生长和生理性状中的增效作用

微量三十烷醇（ＴＲＩＡ）与ＧＡ３配合使用，比ＧＡ３单独使用能明显地促进幼苗生长和增加幼苗干物质积累．同时还增强了ＧＡ３对幼叶中叶绿素含量、可溶性蛋白质含量、呼吸速率、细胞膜透性和过氧化物酶活性的影响．ＧＡ３＋ＴＲＩＡ与ＧＡ３处理相比，促进幼叶内源ＧＡ３水平提高，稳定保持内源ＺＴ于一定水平，ＴＲＩＡ在ＧＡ３低浓度时降低ＩＡＡ水平，在高浓度时则提高ＩＡＡ水平．作者认为ＴＲＩＡ可作为ＧＡ３处理时的增效剂．     

具有新光学性质的Zn-Zn2SiO4纳米同轴线阵列

采用气相沉积技术在Si衬底上生长了Zn-Zn₂SiO₄芯-壳结构纳米同轴线阵列。根部呈笋状的纳米同轴线,直径约100nm,长度可以超过10μm;同轴线芯直径约50nm、壳层厚约25nm。通过X射线衍射的表征以及能量色散谱的线扫描,确定纳米同轴线的芯为Zn,壳层为Zn₂SiO₄。我们提出了一种新的生长机制,同时也为生长均匀的纳米同轴线提供一种新的技术。观察阴极荧光谱发现,纳米同轴线有三个主要发光带:强度最大的中紫外300nm发光、较弱的可见光区560nm以及红外谱区865nm的发光。对纳米同轴线截面的300nm发光峰观测发现,中紫外发光来源于Zn₂SiO₄壳层。正是这种同轴线的结构,使得其具备特殊的光学性质。     

A Fully Vectorial Effective Index Method for Accurate Dispersion Calculation of Photonic Crystal Fibres

A fully vectorial effective index method is developed for accurate dispersion calculation of photonic crystal fibres （PCFs）. In order to improve the accuracy of the model, different values for the effective core radius are used when PCFs have different fibre parameters. The accuracy of our approach is demonstrated by comparing our results with other numerical and experimental results reported in literature. It is found that the accuracy of the fully vectorial effective index method is improved and our results agree well with accurate numerical results obtained by other methods as well as the previously reported experimental data.
